Contest “Chief Accountant of the Year”
The annual contest “Chief Accountant of the Year” was held at Marriot Hotel in Minsk on March 2, 2018. Alla Logvinova, chief accountant at the Mogilev branch of RUP “Beltamozhservis” took the first place.
The contest has been organized for 16 years in a row by Vladimir Grevtsov, the creator and first editor-in-chief of the magazine “Glavniy Buhgalter” (“Chief Accountant”). Accountants from all over Belarus have a chance to participate in the contest to check their skills and prove their qualification. This year there were three tours. The first two tours were conducted online, meanwhile the third one was held at the Center for Professional Advancement of Executive Employees and Specialists of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus. 1032 accountants took part in the first tour, 502 made it to the second, and only 30 were chosen to participate in the final round of the contest. Straight after the testing, the participants went to Marriot Hotel to wait for the results and enjoy the reception held both for the participants of the contest and of the 2nd Practical Expert Conference for Accountants “GlavBuh 2018”.
The reception began at 5 p.m. while the concert and the awarding ceremony started at 6 p.m. The concert program was well-organized. Between the official parts of the awarding ceremony there were some singers and dancers entertaining the guests.
Sergey Shkut, Head of the Main Department for Tax Authorities Development of the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Belarus, read the welcome address of the Minister of Taxes Sergey Nalivayko. He stressed that the Ministry of Taxes is very interested in the continuous development of competence and qualifications of accountants and thus is ready to support this process.
The host introduced the supervisory board (Konstantin Velichkovich, Director of the Center for Professional Advancement of Executive Employees and Specialists of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, was the chairman of the board). Then the jury was announced (Nina Getman, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Glavniy Buhgalter”, was the chairman of the jury). Then the host introduced the partners of the contest: Grant Thornton LLP and ZAO Idea Bank.
The host invited two finalists who had participated in the contest more than five years in a row and asked them some questions about their feelings and expectations.
Then all the finalists were invited to the stage. They were awarded with certificates and gifts. Nina Getman and Konstantin Velichkovich were invited to the stage to name the winner.
The third place was taken by two people as they received the same number of points: Anastasia Kuzmitskaya and Galina Gomolko. The second place went to Bogdan Panasiuk. The winner was Alla Logvinova. All the winners received gifts from the organizers and the partners of the contest. The main prize was a trip along the Norwegian fjords.
After the awarding ceremony, the guests had a common picture and continued the evening at the cocktails reception.
